Dach had two assists against Toronto in Montreal’s season opener last week.

The Montreal Canadiens announced on Monday that forward Kirby Dach will miss time with a “significant” injury, adding that it won’t be short-term. A specific timeline has not been announced as of yet.

Dach is coming off his best NHL season, with 14 goals and 48 points in 58 games in his first year with Montreal. Had Dach not missed the final 16 games with a lower-body injury, the Canadian-born center would have broken the 50-point barrier for the first time in his career. In 212 games over five seasons, Dach – taken third overall in 2019 – has 33 goals and 99 points between Chicago and Montreal.
