The Saskatchewan NDP has also said the Emergencies Act was not necessary
Moe said in a statement Wednesday that revoking the act was “the right thing to do,” adding that law enforcement already had all the tools necessary to stop illegal activity.“Now, with a clear end to the use of the Emergencies Act, it is time for a clear end to mandates and restrictions,” Moe said. “It is past time for the Trudeau government to detail a return to normal for all Canadians.
NDP Justice Critic Nicole Sarauer said Wednesday that she doesn’t think the Emergencies Act is necessary in Saskatchewan. Sarauer said Moe’s “rhetoric” is inflaming divisions at a time when there should be unity. She said it “was remarkable to see the premier double down on the same divisive messages” on Wednesday.
Sarauer accused certain political leaders and parties, including Moe, of playing a role in fostering the crisis.
