The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spent P3.336 billion in 2022 for contracts to haul garbage, the Commission on Audit (COA) said. | ManilaBulletin
In its audit report, COA said the amount spent in 2022 was higher than the P3.217 billion paid to contractors in 2021.
In 2019, the MMDA spent P2,084,776,690, then spent P2,873,462,395.35 in 2020, and P3,217,521,705.30 in 2021, it said. It said it has warned that solid waste generation in Metro Manila will only worsen in the upcoming years, based on the figures on municipal solid waste in its Annual Audit Report on the MMDA.
