The Division of Thoracic Surgery of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Staff Scientist in basic and translational research in mesothelioma and esophageal cancer.
The Staff Scientist will be the primary scientist to evaluate mitochondria pathways associated with treatment resistance in esophageal cancer. This project will focus on the epigenetic and mitochondrial mechanisms that prevent response to immunotherapy or chemotherapy directly in human tumor samples as well as mice and cell culture. The project will require in vivo assessment in mouse models including already developed patient-derived xenografts and patient-derived explants .
