Eli Drinkwitz's new contract extension was announced on Saturday. How much of a raise will Missouri's head football coach get?

Under his previous contract, Drinkwitz made $4 million per season in total compensation before incentives. Of that, $450,000, was in his"base" salary, with the rest coming from other compensation, for apparel deals, television appearances and more. The new deal runs through the 2027 season. It also includes substantial increases in the minimum salary pools for assistant coaches, which jumped from $5.2 million to $6.3 million, and support staff .
After the 2024 season, Drinkwitz's total compensation will jump to $6.25 million. He will continue to receive quarter-million dollar raises every year through the 2027 season, after which time he will be making $7 million per year. If the school is to fire Drinkwitz without cause before the end of the deal, it will owe him 75% of the remaining money left in the contract. If Drinkwitz terminates the deal before the contract ends, he will have to pay the school $6 million though Dec. 1, 2023, a number that will drop by $1 million each year.
