Financial contributions allow the food bank to buy food in bulk directly from manufacturers and choose healthy and appropriate food for those in need in Mississauga. Volunteers from the food bank will be in Mississauga grocery stores on April 8, 15, and 22 so that people can donate food items or money in person.

There is an increase in young adults using food banks throughout North America, and Thomson confirmed, “We do have a lot of young people, about 30% are single individuals.Try refreshing your browser, orThe jump in demand for the Mississauga Food Bank can be partly explained by the needs of Ukrainian refugees who have come here to escape war. Many are housed in hotels near the airport, which is part of Mississauga.
