Frisco advances to the Texas League championship series after beating San Antonio

Missions dropped the first game, 7-3, to the Roughriders.A ninth-inning rally by the San Antonio Missions came up three runs short in Game 2 of their best-of-three Texas League South Division series against the Frisco Roughriders on Thursday night at Wolff Stadium.
Frisco scored first when right fielder Aaron Zavala hit a two-run home run off San Antonio starting pitcher Nolan Watson in the top of the first inning that went over the right-field wall. Zavala’s home run also scored center fielder Evan Carter. Watson left the game after the third inning. His pitching line was three innings pitched, three runs, two hits, four strikeouts and one walk.
Frisco scored their final run of the night in the top of the eighth inning when Hauver hit a single to right field that scored left fielder Kellen Strahm.
