Authorities found a missing woman about 24 hours after she went missing last week, authorities said.

Monroe Township police were called to search for Fitzgerald on May 23 after they received a report of a missing woman, authorities said. Surveillance footage from about 5 p.m. the day before showed her walking into a wooded area of the Winslow Wildlife Management Area, police said. Weather conditions from Wednesday night into Thursday were unforgiving with heavy rainfall and authorities called in the Gloucester County Land Search and Rescue team, officials said in a press release.
The woman was located 90 minutes after the search began, about a half-mile off the road into the forest, alive but suffering from an injury. Investigators said it was likely that shelost her way in the woods. She did not have any communication device on her when she was found, authorities said, and could not walk. A Utility Terrain Vehicle, or UTV, was used to transport her out of the forest.
