The arrest follows a weeks-long investigation beginning in April by the San Mateo Sheriff’s office.
The Sheriff’s office reportedly received word that a child was being abused, but it’s unclear exactly when or how that report was filed.
Officials identified the suspect as Di Li of Millbrae. Li was arrested in San Francisco on Wednesday and is currently being held in the Maguire Correctional Facility.
