The U.S. Army erected a billboard on Interstate 10 for Jessica Mitchell, a Staff Sergeant, whose 2021 murder is still unsolved.
in the reward for credible information in November to $50,000, and it erected a billboard along Interstate 10 on Feb. 28 to find more information and generate leads to find her killer. The billboard is near where police found Mitchell dead, in a high-traffic area, according to Army CID.
The Army is looking for any information that"leads to the apprehension of those responsible for the death of SSG Mitchell," Jeffrey Castro, a spokesperson with Army CID, wrote in an email. Army CID said Mitchell was in her vehicle near Vance Jackson Road when someone killed her. A vehicle of interest was seen traveling southbound on I-10 behind Mitchell's white Dodge Charger at about 2:08 a.m. on New Year's Day 2021.
"Any person having information regarding this incident should contact Army CID at 210-221-1050," Army officials wrote. The Army added that, in order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, CID will not release any more information at this time.
