The Stones have been playing for more than six decades and are known for their revolutionary approach to touring and shrewd branding.The band was formed in England in 1962 by Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards and is one of the highest-grossing live acts of all time.Since 1980 the Stones have raked in more than $2.1 billion from touring, according to Pollstar data, putting them in the top spot – just ahead of U2. They've sold 22.
Despite being the shortest by far of the tours in the Billboard top ten, the Stones still made an average of more than $11 million per show for the 2019 US leg in 2019. Drummer Charlie Watts died in August 2021.The A Bigger Bang tour from 2005 to 2007 made $558 million from 111 shows, putting it in seventh spot on the Billboard Boxscore top ten.
