Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has asked a U.S. Appeals Court in D.C. to force the U.S. District Court judge overseeing his case to grant the Department of Justice's motion to dismiss his case.
Flynn had previously pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his communication with a Russian diplomat involving sanctions placed against Russia by the Obama administration for the country's interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections.to drop the case against Flynn by pledging to schedule a period for soliciting briefs from outside parties who wish to comment on the federal government's desire to dismiss its charges against Flynn.
