Michael Conforto was pinch-hit for in the second inning after appearing to injure his left leg on defense in the bottom of the first Wednesday in Toronto.
SF Giants star rookie Matos takes flight with Flores, Estrada taking fellow Venezuelan under their wings
Conforto was frequently on the move with all the Blue Jays’ balls in play — six hits, four doubles — and collided with the waist-high wall down the right field foul line while making a catch on a pop up from Matt Chapman for the second out of the inning. After throwing the ball back to the infield, Conforto was grabbing at his left leg as he returned to his position.
Conforto, who signed a two-year, $36 million contract this winter after missing all of last season, has not spent time on the injured list this season but has twice been forced out of action for three to four days, most recently with a bruised heel at the end of May. The Giants’ other free-agent outfielder, Mitch Haniger, was placed on the 60-day last week and is out until at least mid-August with a fractured forearm.
