Prosecution evidence is helping to back up Donald Trump's former attorney's claims
Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is doing better than expected under cross examination, a former federal prosecutor has said.Neama Rahmani was reacting to Michael Cohen's third day of cross-examination on Monday in Trump's hush money trial.On Monday, Cohen admitted that he had lied to reporters about Trump's alleged affair with former adult film star Stormy Daniels, and also admitted that he stole from Trump's parent company, the Trump Organization.
The prosecution seeks to prove that before the 2016 presidential election, Trump paid or discussed paying two women—adult film star Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal—to not disclose his alleged affairs with them. He denies affairs with both women.Newsweek sought email comment from Trump's attorney on Monday.Cross-examination of Cohen continued on Monday after two days the previous week.
