Police feigned interest in the sale of the truck, arresting the robber under the pretense of meeting up for a test drive.
Ironically, the truck that helped him get away is what ended up getting him arrested. A Michigan man who had robbed a bank decided to sell his getaway truck, later getting arrested when the person who expressed an interest in buying it turned out to be the police.how Garden City resident, Ali Hussein Farhat, decided to put his 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche up for sale via social media.
“I’m proud of our team and the work they did to track down this bank robber, proclaims Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “I am sure it is a relief to those in the bank that day who were scared to death during the robber. He is now off the street and will be held accountable.” This accountability involves getting up to life in prison for either an armed robbery or bank robbery charge.
