New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz said that Oakland A's pitcher Austin Adams, who began this season with the Mets, 'crossed a line' in how he celebrated recently.
New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz shared a bullpen with Oakland A's pitcher Austin Adams in spring training, at least for part of it. Adams was with the Mets for seven games before he was traded to the Oakland A's for cash on March 24.Since bolting for Oakland, Adams has put together his best major league season by some measures. His 3.92 ERA through 56 games would mark his lowest over a full season. His 22 holds, an important benchmark for middle relievers, are already a career-high.
'He crossed a line because that's something we do when we hit a homer or something,' Diaz told The Post.'He do it always, that's fine. But, he can't get mad if we do something to him the next couple of days.'OMG, indeed.The celebration was directly lifted from the Mets, whose shortstop Jose Iglesias has a chart-topping hit song of the same name.
