Environment Canada has also lifted its special weather statement...but changes are expected this week.
Metro Vancouver has lifted its air quality advisory for the region, as cool marine air has lowered soaring temperatures.
The Metro Vancouver Regional District issued an advisory on Monday afternoon , warning of poor air quality caused by high concentrations of ground-level ozone. Environment Canada also lifted its special weather statement Tuesday, as temperatures dropped several degrees from Monday's daytime highs of 26 C on the coast and 34 C inland.
The cooler weather has improved local air quality, which has returned to a "low" health risk on the Air Quality Health Index. On Monday, most of the region was under a "moderate" health risk. The Metro Vancouver weather forecast doesn't include temperatures quite as high as the ones reached over the weekend. However, they are expected to warm up a couple of degrees in the coming days.
