Meta Platforms Inc. is looking into adding more paid features to its Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp platforms in an effort to recoup lost advertising revenue, according to a new report.
In an interview with The Verge, Meta executive John Hegeman said that while the company is committed to its ad business, he sees “opportunities” in “experiences that people would be willing to pay for.” He told The Verge that any paid features would likely not become a meaningful part of the business right away, but could play a more meaningful role in the long term.
