But it could get worse before it gets better
Cold weather has hit Nottingham and the county. There have been weather warnings, flurries of snow, frozen windscreens and minus temperatures. While waking up to frosty scenes can be a delight, extremely cold weather can cause tremendous disruption and trigger some health issues for those struggling to heat their homes.
According to their experts, we could get some respite from the cold by the weekend as temperatures start to rise, but on the downside it could turn to more unsettled with rain, sleet and perhaps even snow forecast.Tuesday, December 13 Highs of 1 degree and lows of -3C. However, the 'feels like' temperature is a shivering -6C by 10pm tonight. There is no rain forecast for today but it will be cloudy.
Friday, December 16 Another cold day is in store with lows of -4C at 6am in the morning. However, by noon it could have warmed up to 1 degree and the forecast indicates the daytime temperature could hit a high of 2C in some parts of Notts. Again, that 'feels like' temperature provides an icy blast with a low of -7C and only makes it up to -2C around lunchtime.
