Last month, Anna and Terrell adopted the four-day instructional week, which will start next school year. Other districts continue to debate the move.
MISD assembled a committee made up of more than 100 members, including teachers, campus administrators and parents, to review advantages and concerns about different calendar options. Some concerns for the cut included possible food insecurity for students, child care challenges and students being unsupervised on Fridays.
