There had been 29 consecutive Mega Millions draws without a winner. The next drawing is Tuesday at 11 p.m. EDT, and the jackpot will reset to $20 million.
“Congratulations to the Illinois Lottery for selling the winning ticket for the $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot,” Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald, who is serving as lead director for the Mega Millions consortium, said in. “We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the biggest jackpot wins in Mega Millions history.
Six of those winners -- three in Florida, and one in Arizona, Iowa and Pennsylvania -- played the Megaplier option and won $2 million apiece when the Megaplier was 2X.
