Corey Conners didn\u0027t get an early heads up about changes coming to the tour\u0027s designated events.
As the PGA Tour’s best players arrive for this week’s Players Championship, there are some with the opinion that a bit of the lustre is gone at TPC Sawgrass since the tour has already held several full-field, best-on-best tournaments, including last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Canada’s mild-mannered Conners isn’t known for shouting his hot takes, but he shared his opinion on the proposed limited field, no-cut events with Postmedia.Article content “It was mentioned, but it seemed like a big change that I wasn’t sure was going to happen,” Conners said. “I didn’t really understand the tour’s reasoning behind doing it originally, but learning a little bit more I think it makes things better for everyone.”Article content
