Max Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, will start Game 3 of the World Series for the Texas Rangers against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Scherzer had missed over a month due to a shoulder injury but returned to pitch in the AL Championship Series. The World Series is currently tied 1-1, and Scherzer is expected to provide length for the Rangers in the upcoming game.

He got a no-decision for Detroit in Game 4 of the 2012 World Series when the Tigers were swept by Bochy-managed San Francisco.
