Jose Altuve's broken thumb could mean big roles for Mauricio Dubón, David Hensley

Although Dubón has played a lot in center field since the Astros traded for him last May, he came up as a middle infielder and last season played 17 and 16 games at shortstop and second base, respectively. "I've been playing second base my whole life, so I'm ready to go," Dubón said."I'm ready to take on that role. I know that will come with more consistent at-bats, so I'm excited about that. When I step on the field, I will cherish it, and I'll keep it warm for him." Hensley, who started at second base Monday and went 0-for-2 with a walk, was promoted last season after hitting. 298 with 10 home runs and 30 doubles in 104 games at Class AAA Sugar Land.
