Fossil records show that anchovies of yore were more formidable
The anchovies we know today are small, plankton-eating fish that often flavor our Caesar salads and pizzas.
But fossil records show that anchovies of yore were more formidable. An international group of researchers recently reported two species of fishes that roamed the seas about 40 to 45 million years ago. Anchovies.
