Next Spring, Marvel will unleash BLOOD HUNT, a new major event that will position Earth's vampires as a powerful, Avengers-level threat.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The vampires of the Marvel Universe rise up to take on the Avengers in the publisher’s new Blood Hunt event. Over the past few years, Dracula has been consolidating his power, culminating in the Vampire Nation. While the Nation has lived in relative peace with the rest of the world, fans knew it was only a matter of time before the vampires made their move, and now that moment has arrived in Blood Hunt.
Blood Hunt was announced at Marvel’s “Next Big Thing” panel at New York Comic Con. Blood Hunt will be written by Jed MacKay and drawn by Pepe Larraz. Marvel provided a teaser image, by Leinil Francis Yu, as well as a trailer for the event. The trailer shows several Marvel heroes, including Blade, Miles Morales as well as the entirety of the Avengers, fighting for their lives against a horde of vampires. Marvel promised more details of the event, which arrives next Spring, will be forthcoming.
The Vampires Have Been Biding Their Time Vampires have been a presence in the Marvel Universe for over 50 years, since the publication of Tomb of Dracula in 1972. For many years, Earth’s vampires were largely unorganized, but that has changed. During Jason Aaron’s Avengers run, a vampire civil war led to the creation of the Vampire Nation. Located in Chernobyl, the Vampire Nation has largely played by the rules laid down by the United Nations.
Blood Hunt Has Been Building For Years Writer Jed MacKay is no stranger to vampires. MacKay has utilized vampires extensively in his run on Moon Knight. Moon Knight’s new assistant, Reese, is a newly minted vampire and the Fist of Khonshu has tangled with the creatures throughout the book’s run.
