Skydance shared a trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra during Epic Games’ State of Unreal showcase on Wednesday.
is loosely inspired by the Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers limited-run comic series from 2010. As the trailer shows, Steve Rogers is on a mission in Nazi-occupied Paris. However, he has a less-than-friendly encounter with Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and the 1940s incarnation of the Black Panther. Both heroes are there to stop Hydra from claiming a mysterious artifact called the Eye of Force.
While the Marvel 1943 trailer features all four characters, it didn’t reveal much about Jones’ and Nanali’s gameplay. However, it offers a preview of what the player should expect when controlling the two superheroes. Black Panther seems to favor stealth over brute force, traveling by rooftops and ambushing enemies from behind. Meanwhile, the trailer shows Captain America taking a more direct approach, taking on groups of enemies thanks to his iconic shield.
