The Mays and Griffey picture was so perfect because Mays and Griffey were often compared by people. Both were elite centerfielders, both wore No. 24 and both hit for power and had speed as well. Mays spent 23 years as a professional through his time in the Negro Leagues and major leagues . He also took a year off for military service. He hit 660 career home runs and drove in 1,909 runs through his time in both leagues. He played 21 years with the Giants franchise and two with the New York Mets.
