Breaking: Leafs acquire Luke Schenn from Canucks, trade Rasmus Sandin to Capitals in flurry of trades
Not long after the deal was announced, reports surfaced that forward Pierre Engvall was sent to the Islanders for a third-round pick.
Then news broke that the Leafs are bringing back defenceman Luke Schenn from the Canucks for a third-round pick. Sandin has four goals and 20 points in 52 games this season for Toronto. Drafted 29th overall in 2018, the 22-year-old signed a two-year, $2.8 million contract extension in September that runs through next season.
Gustafsson, 30, is making $800,000 this season and is a pending free agent. He has seven goals and 38 points in 61 games. The first-rounder heading back to Toronto was acquired by Washington in the
