During an investigation, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said JSO told Dollar General stores to warn their employees about the string of armed robberies.
School officials also notified parents that a school security guard is in the process of being fired for 'inappropriate statements of a sexual nature' to a student.employee was in jail Tuesday after he was arrested on charges of battery for an incident that happened on campus, while another is being fired for 'making inappropriate statements of a sexual nature to students,' Principal Julie Humphreys wrote in an email to parents.
Curtis Omarr Williams was arrested for an incident that happened at the school on Nov. 15, 2023. Humphreys says he was removed from the school Nov. 16, 2023. Duval County School Police received approval from the State Attorney's Office to arrest Williams and took him into custody Tuesday. The second employee mentioned in Humphrey's email is"in the process of being terminated," she wrote. Though the employee is named in the email, we will not be naming him because he has not been charged with a crime.
Humphreys says the employee, who was a security guard, made inappropriate comments that led to an investigation, which began May 3. A parent reported the incident."While this is all disappointing news, I hope this assures you that we have high standards for employee conduct and will take appropriate action to ensure that we are providing students and families with a safe and appropriate learning environment," she wrote.
