The man was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden. He is currently listed in stable condition, authorities said.

A man was shot and wounded by a police officer in his hometown of Vineland during an altercation Friday morning, authorities said. An officer was dispatched to the the 500 block of East Birch Street in the South Jersey City at about 11:20 a.m., according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. The officer arrived and found the man armed with a knife, the prosecutor’s office said.
