On Nov. 7, Markell Sallis visited an AutoZone in the 8600 block of South Hulen Street to exchange a car battery when an employee, 40-year-old Ernest Lee Cary Jr., shot him multiple times “suddenly and without warning,” according to the lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday in Tarrant County. As a result of the shooting, Sallis suffered disfigurement, scarring and physical impairment and wasn’t able to work, according to the lawsuit against AutoZone Inc.
