Deputies had used a Taser on the man earlier but it was unsuccessful, according to a Sheriff’s department statement.
At least one deputy fatally shot a man holding a pair of scissors who allegedly kept advancing towards them Sunday night in Paramount, authorities said.
Deputies headed there on a report of a family disturbance and battery. The victim told them his 30-year-old son had punched him in the face after an argument, the statement said. The man continued advancing towards deputies and was shot, the statement said. Sheriff’s officials did not say how many deputies fired at the man.
