The offender initially asked the teen if she had a cigarette and she said “no.” A short time later he approached her a second time, tapped her on her shoulder and asked for her Snapchat account, Greenwood said.But about 10 to 15 minutes later he approached her a third time, grabbed her around the waist with one hand and with the other grabbed her between the legs and lifted her up, the prosecutor said.
Diatezija then dropped her and fled the scene. He had been charged with sexual assault, but pleaded guilty to the lesser offence. In the Feb. 1 attack he followed a 22-year-old woman from the Dalhousie LRT station around 12:50 a.m. and attacked her in a nearby park, Greenwood said. When the woman started screaming he used both hands to choke her before pulling down her pants and digitally assaulting her.A date for sentencing submissions will be set next week.
