Man stabbed, beaten trying to break up fight outside La Mesa party [Breaking]
A man was stabbed in the back and beaten when he attempted to break up a fight outside a large party in La Mesa early Sunday, police said.
The victim, a man in his early 20s, was transported to a local hospital with stab wounds and other injuries, said San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster.The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. at Ampi’s Balloon Boutique and Events Venue on Lake Murray Boulevard near El Paso Street. Both San Diego and La Mesa police responded because the victim ran several blocks across the border into San Diego before calling police.
The victim told police he was confident he could identify the suspects, Foster said. Police also plan to review surveillance video shot by cameras set up outside the business, which is in a strip mall, she said.
