A man was injured Sunday in a drive-by shooting in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
At 1:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of ShotSpotter activity, followed by calls about a possible gunshot victim near the 1900 block of 82nd Avenue by Birch Street in the city’s Arroyo Viejo neighborhood, an Oakland police officer said.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, and learned multiple rounds had been fired in a drive-by shooting just before.investigators managed to recover at least one casing from the scene, but released no information about shooting suspect arrests or any associated vehicle.
For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
