A man shot Friday night in Oakland has died, becoming the city’s 31st homicide victim of the year.
The name of the man, an Oakland resident who died Monday afternoon at a hospital, was not immediately released pending notification of his family.Police have not confirmed a motive yet and no arrests have been made. Investigators believe the men were the intended targets.Police said the two men, who know each other, were together outside when at least one shooter opened fire on them.
The killing is the 31st homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 39 homicides in the city. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
