UPDATE: Austin police are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred near 7500 South Glenn St. in southeast Austin.
Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, officers responded to 7537 S. Glenn St. in reference to a welfare check. The caller had reported he had not heard from a family member in several days.
Officers arrived at the scene, but were unable to make contact with anyone inside the home. Officers were later able to gain entry inside the home, and found two people with gunshot wounds. The two, who were later identified as 73-year-old Eva Carol Dotson Penton and 65-year-old Timothy McDonald, were pronounced dead at the scene.
