A Paterson man killed his roommate in their apartment Sunday morning by hitting him in the back of the head with a rock during an argument, authorities said Raymond Menafield, 40, is charged with murder and two weapons offenses, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday. Menafield’s 39-year-old roommate had a large laceration on his head and was unresponsive when police arrived at their apartment on the 200 block of 12th Avenue around 6:20 a.m, officials saidMenafield is being held ahead of a detention hearing. Attorney information for him wasn’t immediately available.
