As the Foo Fighters frontman says in the video, he had traveled to Ireland’s Ring of Kerry after the 1994 death of Nirvana frontmanDunne was there on a holiday to go swimming with friends when he saw Grohl.August 15, 2024“As I got closer to him, I saw that he had a Kurt Cobain T-shirt on,” Grohl said. “It was Kurt’s face looking back at me in the middle of nowhere.”But Grohl didn’t hang around or offer Dunne a ride.Turns out, it was a life-changing moment for Grohl.
Grohl started Foo Fighters in 1994 not long after the death of his friend and bandmate. Cobain died in April and Grohl was writing and recording original songs by October.
