No one is in custody for the fatal shooting.
When they arrived at the home, they found the victim unresponsive inside the residence. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene.
“We have no one in custody,’’ said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. “However from evidence we observed on the scene, we believe this was an isolated incident and none of the residents in the neighborhood are in any danger.” “It’s hard for police to combat when these things are going on and we don’t know about them,’’ he said. “The community has to be a stakeholder of reducing violent crime. When they see things, they’ve got to let us know so we can intervene. The police can’t do it all.”
