Aimen Halim has a bone to pick with Buffalo Wild Wings.
The man from Chicago filed suit in the U.S. District Court of Northern Illinois claiming the national chain of sports bars is misleading customers in the way chicken nuggets are sold.
"Based on the name and description of the Products , reasonable consumers are led to believe that the Products are actually boneless wings," the suit argues. "In other words, that the Products are chicken wings that have simply been deboned, and as such, are comprised of entirely chicken wing meat. Unbeknownst to Plaintiff and other consumers, the Products are not wings, but instead slices of chicken breast meat. Thus, the marketing and advertising of the Products as Boneless Wing is false and misleading."Halim has filed a nationwide class-action lawsuit and is"demanding" a jury trial, according to court documents.
"Had Mr. Halim known that the Products are not chicken wings, he would not have purchased them, or would have paid significantly less for them. As a result, Mr. Halim suffered a financial injury as a result of Defendants’ false and deceptive conduct," the suit continues. This isn't the first company Halim has challenged in court. He reportedly has challenged brands such as Hefty over claims its"recycling bags" aren't actually recyclable. That case was dismissed.
