“Pretty tragic situation,” Broussard said. “Our condolences do go out to the family of the victim in this case. We just wish it hadn’t gotten that far.” Around 10:30 a.m., the man allegedly stole a Chevrolet Traverse from the Cleveland dealership and fled southbound on 59, speeding at an excess of 100 mph as he was pursued by Cleveland PD, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and other law enforcement, Felts told the Police Reporter. Cleveland is about 45 miles northeast of downtown Houston.
