Man faces charges for allegedly hitting son with aluminum baseball bat: Cleveland Heights police blotterAn East Derbyshire Road man was arrested July 4 for setting off fireworks in his front yard.At 2:20 p.m. July 7, police were dispatched to Yorkshire and Goodnor roads on a report of a man getting out of an SUV while holding an aluminum baseball bat, grabbing a child, and putting that child in the SUV’s back seat.The boy’s father would not allow police into the house to see his son.
The boy told police his father knocked him to the ground when they arrived home and struck him several times with the bat, then made him crawl into the house. It was then found that the man was wanted on a Cleveland Heights Municipal Court warrant and had several open driving suspensions. Police charged him with carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, driving without a license, not wearing a seat belt, driving with expired plates, and driving under suspension.At 12:20 p.m. July 5, police were dispatched to Supreme Legacy Barber Salon, 1649 Lee Road, where a brick was thrown through the front window.
The woman said she did not have her former boyfriend’s phone number because, during their break-up argument, he took her phone.
