A jury convicted Kielonte Harris, 28, of six counts of aggravated murder, three counts of murder and more charges in killings of April Magana, 36, Joseph Meeks, 31, and Muriel Tursivio, 26, in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Cleveland man was found guilty Friday of killing three people at a house party in the city’s Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood in 2019.
All three were shot in the head. The last two shootings, which occurred outside the party, were captured on security video that prosecutors played for the jury. “[Deandre Harris] is innocent and we are grateful that justice was served in this case,” Hibbard said.The killings came just before 4 a.m. Nov. 2, 2019, at a party that Magana threw at her apartment at West 78th Street and Lorain Avenue. Kielonte Harris and Deandre Harris went to the party, and Kielonte Harris tried to sell drugs to a woman outside, prosecutors said.
Kielonte Harris pulled a gun on Magana and pointed it at her, prosecutors said. A person who was at the party testified at trial that Magana told Kielonte Harris, “if you’re going to pull a gun on me you’d better ... use it” and then licked the barrel.The gunfire sent party-goers -- including Kielonte Harris -- running down the stairwell and out the apartment’s door into the street. Surveillance video showed Meeks tried to confront Kielonte Harris with his hands in the air.
