Police have confirmed that a man has sadly died following a large emergency services presence in Tameside yesterday afternoon.
Officers say enquiries are ongoing, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Eyewitnesses from the scene told the Manchester Evening News they saw a large emergency services presence at Portland Basin at around 6pm yesterday evening. The exact nature of the man's death has not been confirmed.
