A man charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons-related offences stemming from a shooting in Torbay on Saturday night will appear in court via telephone today.
An RNC vehicle was parked outside a Torbay home on Sunday morning, March 19, following a shooting the previous night. A man has since been charged with attempted murder and the shooting victim remains in hospital.ST. The accused will appear in provincial court in St. John’s today in connection with the shooting, which sent another male to hospital.Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were called to a residential area near the Foodland supermarket just before midnight Saturday.Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
This is the fifth attempted murder charge the RNC has laid in the metro area in two weeks: four teenage boys are set to make their next court appearance Tuesday on attempted murder, aggravated assault and other charges related to an armed attack on a 16-year-old Prince of Wales Collegiate student at his school March 9.
