UNION CITY — A man has been charged with murder and other crimes in an Oct. 5 stabbing attack that left a woman dead and two other people injured, according to authorities and court documents.The suspect, 21-year-old Carlos Hernandez of Mountain View, was charged Monday with murder, two counts of attempted murder, kidnapping, carjacking, first-degree residential burglary and evading a peace officer. Hernandez was arrested the day of the killing.
He is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail and is scheduled to enter a plea to the charges on Nov. 3. The deadly violence happened about 7:45 a.m. Oct. 5 in the 33000 block of Almaden Boulevard. Police found three people stabbed. Cowger was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victims were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not identified them or said if they are still hospitalized.
