A San Antonio man caught on video in 2019 beating his dog named"Buddy" received one of the longest recorded punishments in Texas in connection with an animal cruelty case. Frank Javier Fonseca, 56, was sentenced last month to 25 years in prison in the 226th District Court, Animal Care Services said in news release on Tuesday. His prior criminal history allowed for the lengthy sentence, the release said.
An anonymous person captured Fonseca on the front porch of a home in the 1200 block of Fenfield beating his Rottweiler. In the graphic video provided by ACS with the news release, the man is seen punching the dog with his fists and a piece of wood before choking and kicking the dog in February 2019.Fonseca said he was upset the dog got out of the yard and he was"disciplining" him.
