A man was arrested for driving under the influence after a fatal crash in Tooele County.
A trooper with Utah Highway Patrol responded to the scene Saturday morning on eastbound I-80 in Aragonite.
Officials said Shelby Kenneth Secrist, 43, had been driving a black sedan when he overcorrected and struck a van hauling a trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of the road. "While speaking with Shelby, I noticed that his speech and demeanor were sluggish," court documents read. "His eyes were blood shot and glassy-looking. His pupils were tightly constricted."
A flask with alcohol and more drugs were allegedly located in Secrist's sedan during an investigation. Officials said they also located eight 1.75-liter bottles of alcohol in the trunk.
